Fed up with constant sunshine and perpetual traffic, Allison left Southern California for Smith College, where she graduated in 2007 with a double major in Art History and French. She currently lives in Paris where she's pursuing a Master's in French language and civilization and every cute guy she sees on the metro. Well, in her head, that is. Writing has always been a part of her life, from making up stories in her diary when she was 6 (come on, who didn't want to date Zack Morris?) to playwriting in college, and now blogging about her (mis)adventures in the City of Lights with acerbic wit and a pretentious vocabulary. When she manages to temporarily escape the black hole of academia, she likes to discover new places, win pub quizzes, drink coffee, go to museums, and search for the perfect croissant. Additionally, most people know her as their resident cynic and movie trivia freak. Hopefully if and when she comes back Stateside, she'll find a job that doesn't involve a cubicle and headset, but her own ideas and a computer. She's ecstatic to be involved with SASSY and looks forward to bringing a transatlantic view to things (and appreciates questions and feedback, of course!).

Bari a. Williams is a native and current resident of Oakland, CA where she was raised an only child and only grandchild until she was 13. She is currently being held hostage there by her husband, whom she met at age 13. This emotionally spoiled chick was given not only too much attention, but too much education. She has a B.A from UC Berkeley, an MBA from St. Mary's College of CA, an MA from UCLA and soon a JD from UC Hastings. She loves (in no particular order) designing shoes, desserts, puppies, fashion, her husband, her mom, AKA, the History Channel, basketball, football, the intersection of Black history and sociology, Mexican food, and telling it like it is- hence her presence here as our advice columnist. Everything else she just likes- in varying amounts, or not at all.
She welcomes your questions and looks forward to providing you bluntly worded, funny, yet nurturing answers. |

| After four years in Atlanta, Danielle has returned to NYC as a graduate from Emory University with a B.A. in Psychology and Creative Writing. She is in search for her dream job in which she can incorporate her degrees and her love for kids (and maybe even add a sprinkle of her food obsession). A triumphant product of a single parent home, she realizes the importance of all the support she and her mother received. Danielle intends to return the favor to children in nontraditional families, primarily those in foster homes, by providing the extra support they will need to be successful. In the meantime, Danielle celebrates each day dancing, eating, traveling, snapping pictures, reading, or planning her next adventure.
Danielle, known to some as Lady D, was seeking post collegiate guidance and created a social group with a mission similar to that of SASSY. Women Everywhere are VIP and deserve to be treated as such ALL THE TIME. |

Born and raised in the Heartbeat (aka Hartford, CT), Leah is SASSY's resident know-it-all. An information junkie, Leah lives and breaths for all things pop culture, fashion, beauty, and lifestyle related, but makes up for her materialistic tendencies with a fine appreciation for budget spending and fiscal thriftiness. Her alter-ego, "Dr. Wright," is a 2003 Dartmouth College graduate and a current PhD candidate in History at Princeton University. The morale of this story? Throw Leah a topic, and she probably knows some random piece of trivia associated with it. Aside from being the lifestyle op-ed columnist for SASSY, Leah runs her own blog/forum, "Bougie Ballin' on a Budget", that teaches folks how to maintain a fabulous lifestyle on a bargain budget. An unabashed nerd-for-hire, Leah loves books, the internet, haitians, video games, designer shoes and purses, dogs, her family and friends, and dark chocolate. |

Sara has some East Coast-West Coast identity issues. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island; grew up in LA; and has lived in Maryland for the past 14 years. However, when asked where's she from, "LA," is always her first answer. She received a Bachelor's in English and a minor in Spanish from Towson University and her Master's in Writing from the same university. That minor in college is what pays her bills these days as she teaches Spanish at a private elementary school. Writing, however (along with fashion), has been a passion for Sara since she was but a wee lass. She recently combined the two loves to start her own style blog called Notes on Style and Fashion. In addition to writing about fashion (and writing fiction), Sara loves languages, Pilates, yoga, salsa dancing, and reality TV, but not necessarily in that order. She's also currently working on her first novel. |
